Kamala Kaze is a music producer and DJ from Bellingham, WA. Influenced by a wide range of genres, he played in Seattle metal band Confines for four years, all while crafting beats on the side. In 2015 he went public with the release of his first beat tape and a newly created hiphop collective, White Lotus Records. As of 2019 he has released numerous beat tapes as well as producing full length projects for various artists in the Whatcom County area including BonesTheArtiFact and the Dojo Dwellers. In this time, the collective/label has grown into a talented family of musicians from around the world.
DopeDorado is a hip-hop duo from Ferndale, WA featuring BonesTheArtiFact on the mic and Kamala Kaze handling production. Bones and Kamala met in early 2016 and have been making music together ever since. DopeDorado is a combination of Kamala's smooth, sample-heavy beats and Bones' hard hitting vocal versatility, invoking a sound reminiscent of a combination of the late 90’s and the more modern “trap” era. They’re newest mixtape dropped in early February and their second album is slated to be released on 4/20/2019. With plans to tour this Summer, DopeDorado shows no signs of slowing down.
The Dojo Dwellers are an elusive rap duo from Bellingham, WA composed of members Shotgun Shogun and the mask wearing SCREAM. In their lyrics, the two claim to be reincarnations of legendary undead musicians from over a thousand years ago. With verbal agility, sinister lyrics, and even more sinister beats, they bring a dark sound into the White Lotus family. Both members have released solo EPs in the past, but this Fall teamed up for the first Dojo Dwellers mixtape. These two undead samurai are currently working on their debut full length album to be released in 2019.
